Pembrokeshire Beaches
There are more Blue Flag beaches in Pembrokeshire than anywhere else in Britain. We can help advise which beaches are best in our local area for different activities, from dog walking, rock pooling, surfing, more extreme activities, ease of access or just getting away from it all.
Outdoor Activities
Pembrokeshire is home to a variety of outdoor activities, including coasteering, kayaking & surfing. We can help you find an adventure that suits you, with advice on places to go for the more experienced or help recommend companies in the area to take you and your family out to make memories you will never forget.
Britain's smallest city St Davids
Only 3 miles from Tretio, St Davids is a popular pit stop for provisions. With a mix of cafes, pubs and restaurants to refuel after the easy walks accessible from the area. A good base to book local island boat trips with a range of providers. You can spend days out exploring shops, galleries and the spectacular Cathedral or attend summer concerts and plays in the stunning location of the Bishops Palace. The chapel of St Non, held by tradition as the birthplace of St David is located on the coast a short walk from the City.
Abereiddi beach + Blue Lagoon
Popular destination just 1.5 miles from Tretio by car. Play on the beach or join the guys from TYF or Celtic Quest Coasteering and be sure of an adventure of a lifetime jumping off the rocks into the Blue Lagoon.
Porthgain Harbour
Just a 10 minute drive from Tretio you will find Porthgain and its harbour. In the 19th Century it was best known for its slate, brick making and finally for quarrying gravel. Porthgain is now a very popular tourist centre with a great pub, cafe restaurant and excellent art galleries
Carn LLidi
The views over the St Davids Peninsula from Carn LLidi are spectacular. It dominates our landscape and can be easily reached from Whitesands Bay where you can follow the signposted path.
Ramsey Island, Skomer & Grassholm
Explore the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastline and its Islands.
You can expect to see wildlife including common dolphins, porpoises, grey seals and a myriad of birds including gannets, manx sheerwaters and kittiwakes.
Local boat companies, sailing from St Justinians will take you there and with their wealth of knowledge they will provide you with a spectacular insight into our closest RSPB reserve Ramsey Island and beyond.
You can also sail from Martins Haven to see the Puffins on Skomer between April and July.
Strumble head & lighthouse
Stumble head is one of the best places in Wales to see migrating birds, there is an old coast guard "lookout" which is now used to watch the wildlife. Keep watching and you could be lucky enough to spot dolphins and porpoises.
Start your wildlife watching adventures in this wild, but accessible part of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Stackpole & Barafundle Bay
Stackpole Estate is one of the National Trusts must see nature reserves, with a myriad of sea birds and wildlife to see. Whilst Barafundle bay is a beautiful white sand beach looking out to the crystal clear turquoise sea. Both are very special places and easily accessible to walkers of all abilities.
Pembroke Castle
This stunning medieval castle and the birthplace of Henry VII has special events throughout the year to entertain all members of the family. It is also dog friendly so you can take your beloved pet with you.
Steeped in history this enormous oval castle, surrounded by a mill pond was restored in Victorian times. The castle is dominated by the gatehouse on the outside and the huge circular keep once you’re inside.
The walled town of Pembroke which grew up around the castle also contains many ancient and interesting Norman buildings.
